Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Self, a service provided by Samblas Studios OÜ, including the website, Studio, browser extensions, AI features, Share Kit and social-card features, project media tools, billing features, analytics, and hosted resume or portfolio pages. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the Service

Self is a platform that turns uploaded resumes, CVs, portfolios, and related professional materials into hosted webpages. Samblas Studios OÜ provides the Service.

The Service lets you upload or paste content, use AI to extract structured data, edit pages manually or with AI Chat, use a Self browser extension for its stated workflow, add supported media to project sections, generate social sharing cards, manage billing, view analytics where available, and host previews and published pages under a Self domain.

2. Acceptance and Eligibility

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may require verification or additional information to access certain features and may refuse, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms or presents a security risk.

4. Your Content and License

"User Content" includes files and text you upload or paste, resume or portfolio data extracted from them, profile photos, favicons, project media, YouTube or other third-party media references you provide, edits or settings you provide, card-only Share Kit text overrides, and resulting page content you publish. You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant Self a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, modify, optimize, transform, display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, maintain, secure, and provide the Service. This includes creating technical copies, generating thumbnails or posters, optimizing images, validating videos, rendering social cards, generating previews, applying AI-assisted edits you request, and publishing or serving your pages and related assets.

If you publish a page, use Share Kit, or create a public promo URL, you authorize Self to make the related content, metadata, generated card images, project media, and link previews publicly available and distribute them over the internet.

You represent that you have all rights, permissions, and consents required to upload, process, link, generate, publish, and share your User Content, including rights for any people, employers, clients, projects, trademarks, images, videos, music, or third-party materials shown in it.

5. AI Features and Output

The Service uses automated systems and AI providers to extract structured data, generate drafts, and power AI Chat edits in Studio. AI Chat may rewrite text, adjust structure, translate content, update theme or style settings, summarize changes, or otherwise modify a page draft based on your instructions.

AI output may contain errors, omissions, inaccurate statements, biased language, formatting issues, or changes that do not match your intent. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all content before publishing or sharing it.

AI features may be unavailable, rate-limited, quota-limited, or refused when a request is unsupported, unsafe, too large, outside the product contract, or otherwise not appropriate for the Service.

Accepted AI Chat edit requests may count against that feature's usage quota for your plan, even if the returned edit does not materially change your page or if a provider or validation error occurs after processing begins. Resume Autofill for Jobs uses the separate quota rules in the next section.

We do not guarantee AI output quality, uniqueness, completeness, legality, accuracy, non-infringement, or fitness for a specific purpose, including job-search, hiring, admissions, or business outcomes.

6. Resume Autofill for Jobs

Resume Autofill for Jobs requires a generated Self page and works only after you deliberately activate it on an ordinary job-application form. It scans eligible empty fields, requests a grounded fill plan, inserts approved high- or medium-confidence values, and offers one-step undo. It does not submit the application.

The extension may copy supported facts from your selected Self page, normalize their format, extract a component, choose semantically equivalent native select/radio/checkbox options, or generate a concise inferred answer using that page and limited job context. Every supported blank question uses the same semantic model pass rather than a natural-language phrase list, including questions whose answers may be sensitive or legally consequential. A derived or generated value may not repeat the page's exact wording and may be inaccurate. Structurally unsupported, non-empty, invalid, and low-confidence fields remain unchanged.

You are responsible for reviewing every inserted value and the complete application before submission. Self does not guarantee compatibility with every website, iframe, custom control, CAPTCHA, employer workflow, or applicant-tracking system, or that an inserted answer is accurate or appropriate for a particular role.

A valid non-empty request accepted for autofill planning counts once against your rolling autofill quota, including when no suggestion reaches the confidence threshold. Empty or invalid scans and server-side planning failures that return no plan do not consume an autofill run. If a successful response is interrupted or lost, retrying that same request reuses its original usage event and does not consume another run.

Your use of a job site remains subject to that site's terms and policies. You must not use the extension to bypass access controls, CAPTCHA, security measures, or submission requirements.

7. Publishing and Visibility

Published pages are public by default and may be indexed, cached, copied, quoted, screenshotted, or shared by search engines, social platforms, messaging apps, AI crawlers, recipients, and other third parties. Do not publish sensitive personal information unless you are comfortable with it being publicly available.

Search visibility controls, where available, are instructions to crawlers and do not guarantee that third parties will remove, ignore, or stop displaying content they already collected.

You can unpublish or delete pages in Studio. Removal from caches, backups, search indexes, social previews, or third-party systems may take time and may be outside Self's control.

Self may include technical elements or attribution, such as a "Powered by Self" link, to operate and market the Service.

8. Share Kit, Social Cards, and Project Media

Share Kit lets you create public social cards, QR-style business cards, downloadable images, and promo URLs based on your published page and card-specific settings. You are responsible for the text, colors, URLs, profile details, and other content you choose for those cards.

Social platforms, messaging apps, crawlers, and recipients may fetch, cache, display, resize, crop, reshare, or keep generated card images and link previews after you share them. Self does not control those third-party systems.

Project media may include uploaded images, uploaded videos, generated video posters, cached thumbnails, and supported third-party media references such as YouTube URLs. Published project media becomes part of your public page.

You must not upload, link, or publish project media unless you have the rights and permissions needed to do so. Third-party media services, including YouTube and Google services, may apply their own terms, privacy notices, embedding rules, availability limits, and content restrictions.

We may reject, remove, transform, resize, compress, transcode, disable, or delete media or generated social-card assets to enforce technical limits, security requirements, product rules, legal obligations, or these Terms.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Upload, link, generate, share, or publish content that infringes intellectual property, publicity, confidentiality, or privacy rights.
  • Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliations.
  • Publish another person's resume, portfolio, likeness, client work, or private information without the rights and permissions needed to do so.
  • Use public pages, Share Kit, AI features, or project media to harass, impersonate, deceive, defame, threaten, exploit, or target others.
  • Upload or publish malware, malicious links, spam, phishing content, or deceptive content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by scraping, probing, overloading, reverse engineering, or bypassing security, quota, entitlement, or access controls.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
  • Use AI features to generate or assist unlawful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, or unsafe content.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service integrates with third-party providers for hosting, storage, AI processing, authentication, email delivery, analytics, advertising measurement, media processing, social sharing, and payments.

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Project media may interact with third-party media services such as YouTube. Social sharing may interact with third-party social networks, messaging apps, QR scanners, and link-preview crawlers. Your use of third-party services may be subject to those providers' terms and policies.

The Service may include links to third-party websites or resources. We do not control or endorse those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

11. Paid Plans, Fees, and Billing

Before checkout, we present key subscription terms, including price, billing interval, currency, renewal terms, and any applicable taxes, discounts, promotions, or offer-specific conditions.

Some features require a paid subscription. Plan pricing, currency, billing interval, and taxes (if applicable) are presented at checkout.

By starting a paid subscription, you provide express consent to recurring charges using your selected payment method until cancellation takes effect.

Checkout and subscription management for active subscriptions are handled through Stripe-hosted flows, including the customer billing portal.

You can cancel online through the customer billing portal. Cancellation should be at least as easy as signup where required by applicable law.

Unless otherwise stated by applicable law or the billing flow, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.

You can cancel renewal through the billing portal. Cancellation is typically effective at the end of the current paid period; access may continue until then.

Where required by applicable law, we provide post-purchase confirmations and renewal reminders (including annual reminders for ongoing plans) through reasonable channels such as email or in-product notice.

Plan upgrades and other paid-plan changes may apply immediately with prorated charges or credits. Downgrades to a cheaper plan or shorter billing interval are generally scheduled for the end of the current billing period.

Plan changes may be delayed or not applied if payment is incomplete, fails, or Stripe requires additional payment action.

If pricing changes, we provide advance notice where required by law. Unless required otherwise, changes apply from the next renewal period after notice.

Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated at the time of purchase.

If a discount, coupon, promotional grant, or lifetime grant is offered, the promotion-specific terms disclosed in the product, checkout, or related offer control eligibility, duration, billing, and ongoing access.

If payment fails, becomes delinquent, or your subscription is otherwise not active, we may restrict paid features, downgrade entitlements, or suspend access until billing is resolved.

12. Free Plan and Published Pages

The current free plan includes one hosted page with required Self attribution, subject to the plan limits shown in the product. Free plan limits may include limits on generated pages, daily generations, AI edits, job-application autofills, published pages, template access, analytics, search visibility controls, theme customization, published page controls, media storage, and other features.

Free published pages remain public and shareable unless you unpublish or delete them, but some controls such as AI Chat, analytics, search visibility, branding removal, advanced templates, theme controls, metadata controls, footer customization, and higher usage limits require an eligible paid plan.

Free published pages may use technical search-indexing restrictions such as noindex instructions even if the page remains publicly accessible through its direct URL.

13. Plan Entitlements and Feature Access

Feature access depends on your active plan, entitlement status, billing status, promotional grants, and product configuration. This may include limits on generated pages, daily generations, daily AI edits, daily job-application autofills, published pages, media storage, available templates, analytics, search indexing, theme customization, published page controls, and attribution controls.

Some capabilities, including AI Chat, visitor analytics, advanced templates, theme customization, metadata and footer controls, search visibility controls, and removing Self attribution, are available only on eligible paid plans or grants.

Team plans are intended for managing multiple profiles, clients, or pages within the plan limits shown in the product. If you use Self for another person, client, employer, or organization, you represent that you have authority to upload, process, edit, publish, share, and manage their content through the Service.

We may update plan limits, packaging, or feature availability over time, subject to applicable law.

14. Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant Self a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation.

15. Content Moderation, Suspension, and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may remove content, unpublish pages, disable media or social-card assets, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, violates applicable law, infringes rights, creates security or operational risk, could expose Self or others to liability, or presents a risk to the Service or others.

Where appropriate and legally required, we may provide notice or an explanation for moderation, suspension, or termination decisions and a reasonable way to contact us about the decision. We may act without prior notice for urgent security, legal, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain or delete your content as described in our Privacy Policy and as required by law.

16. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Self disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Self does not guarantee that your page, AI-generated output, autofilled application content, analytics, social cards, SEO controls, or published content will lead to interviews, employment, admissions, clients, revenue, search ranking, social engagement, or any particular outcome.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted hosting, permanent URL availability, third-party indexing or de-indexing behavior, third-party media availability, social preview behavior, analytics completeness, or that backups, caches, search engines, social networks, messaging apps, AI crawlers, or other third parties will remove content immediately or at all.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Self will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill.

Self's total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to Self in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Self and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your User Content, project media, social cards, third-party media references, use of AI outputs, violation of these Terms, violation of law, infringement or alleged infringement of rights, or your use of the Service.

19. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Estonia for disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, except where non-waivable consumer rights require otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer, privacy, or auto-renewal laws.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.

By continuing to use the Service after changes become effective, you agree to the updated Terms.
